And so it begins...

<addafcon = 5> I’ve done a few crazy things in life. When I was around 28 I was working as a UX/UI designer at a startup in Wheaton, IL. I didn’t really love that job so instead of designing a good front-end for some kind of system administration software, I decided, for some unknown reason, I wanted to learn a long dead dialect of ancient Greek (it’s called Koiné. It’s the language used in the Christian New Testament). 3 months later I had a graduate level understanding of a dead language… and no job.

It wasn’t the first or last time I got “hyperfocused” on something less than useful. One of the downfalls of neurodiverse brain chemistry (my brain doesn’t make enough of certain neurotransmitters, has a non-functional “working memory,” has some difficulties with executive function that leads to emotion dysregulation and occasionally going down “rabbit hole” tangents wherein I make use of a 60,000 word vocabulary to say in, say two long pedantic paragraphs, what could be much more easily stated as…</addafcon>

I remember and obsess over things I don’t need to and forget and ignore things that do need my attention. I talk way too much and... Sometimes I also seem like kind of dick.

None of that is what this post is about. This post is about our new Clubhouse endeavor Agile Fight Club. The name is intentionally provocative, but I don’t expect any actual fighting. It’s going to be spirited and freethinking conversation that tries to overcome conventional wisdom and Agile “dogma” to uncover useful ideas (some old, some new) and a community in which to share those ideas that is agnostic about method. So tell your Scrum Alliance friends, tell your Scrum.org friends, tell your Agile Alliance friends and definitely DEFINITELY tell your currently unaffiliated friends.

The first rule of Agile Fight Club is... TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW ABOUT AGILE FIGHT CLUB!!!
